Jameson Strange Writing Associates (JSWA) is a small publishing imprint that allows independent writers to manage their contacts with book wholesalers; the only stipulation being that the indie author finances their acquisition of an ISBN through JSWA.
Generally speaking the owner of the ISBN is the representative of the author whose book adorns the particular ISBN. Negotiations between wholesalers and ISBN owners usually happens without the author being involved.
JSWA does not subscribe to that philosophy. What we say is; pay for an ISBN and you’ll be involved in all discussions relating to the promotion and sales of your book from the off.
The downside? There is one; it does mean that you’ll have to have Jameson Strange Writing Associates named as your publisher – unfortunately that’s the way ISBNs work.
